This month’s (rescheduled) “book” club is this afternoon:

3pm Eastern Daylight / 12pm Pacific Daylight
4 May 2024

We’ll be reflecting on our own history educations, discussing this whole plan of “Big Spiral History”, and talking about what we want a history curriculum to do, goshdarnit.1

We’ll also be talking about how to actually create it. (This is something I’m thinking about, as I prepare to spend the summer writing a book on Egan for parents.)

The reading will be two patterns we’ve written about here — Spiral History° and Big History°. If you’d like to do extra reading, here’s the paper I presented a decade ago at the inaugural International Big History Association conference.

I.I.: Brandon, how do I get into this accursed event?

The Zoom link is below, for paying subscribers.

I.I.: How long will it be?

We spend an hour, and sometimes stick around afterwards to keep talking.

I.I.: Will it be recorded?

Yes! The link to watch it will be available on this post afterwards (to people who are paid subscribers).2

I.I.: When are the upcoming book clubs (and what will you be discussing)?

See ‘em here, on this page I made.
